Visit to Pinehurst, NC

We went South for Elizabeth's (Bettie) Birthday, Sara and I had gone all the way to Germany for her 21st Birthday 4 yrs ago when her and Mike were stationed there, she's my Christmas baby, I can't miss celebrating it with her. We celebrated by going out to dinner to Bone Fish Grill.
Sophia helps Mommy open her birthday gifts, her favorite was the box of chocolate covered cherries that Curt gave her.
Elizabeth turned 25 on December 27th
She's come a long way... Bettie was only 9 in the picture below, just look at that red hair!

Christmas time, just Curt and I

I just love my gift from Curt, a Digital Photo Frame, but it's not just a DPF, this one holds up to 6400 photos. Just the perfect gift
Curt and I had a quite Christmas, had a nice dinner and went to see the new movie "Marley and me"
I set the table decorated with lots of lights...

The finished kitchen!!!

Curt took some new pictures of the farm kitchen. He has done such a beautiful job, of course he wouldn't have it any other way. The island is my favorite!

Our visit to Connecticut

Curt and I drove up Saturday morning to visit his Mom and Dad. We had a lovely lunch at Carlito's in Woodbury which is over one town from where they live in Southbury. Fran & Bill live on a very nice golf course community. I can't wait to go back in the Spring and spend some more time with them. We also visited with Curt's cousin Phil and Sharon and their 2 children, Michael and Olivia. We had met at the wedding in October in upstate NY. They opened their home to us, after many glasses of wine and Italian desserts we went to sleep. In the morning Sharon had a wonderful breakfast for us. I want to thank them for their wonderful hospitality!!! I find out more and more about the LaDelfa family. What a beautiful family! Above are some pictures we took in front of the Christmas tree in their beautiful New England home...

It's been awhile since I posted....

Hello everyone!!! Just to keep you posted, it's been almost a month since I posted any news but we are doing well. Curt is in process of completing the kitchen island which is the last bit left on the kitchen renovation. It's quite the job because of the many pieces to put it together. I will hopefully post pictures for you to see the finished product this coming weekend. My job is going much better, I am grasping the insurance business more and more everyday. It's already been 2 1/2 months since I started but I feel much better now that I have written some policies and even completed some auto refinance loans with State Farm Bank, I am still a long way from the goal I set when I started of 25 auto policies and 5 bank loans. Curt and I are looking forward to spending time with the family in North Carolina in a couple of weeks for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to spend time with everyone. Also, we will visit with the Lehman's on our way back to Maryland. MaryAnne and Dennis are my closest and oldest friends, I can't wait to see everyone. Keep in touch!!! Love y'all......kisses and hugs!

Beautiful Bride & Groom
What a great weekend we had in New York, Watertown is a small town but such beautiful countryside. It reminded me of back home in Portugal, the rolling landscape. Of course this time of year is the best time with all the fall colors. Curt's counsin's wedding was so much fun, I enjoyed meeting the LaDelfa Family, and I met everyone with the exception of Curt's Mom and Dad. Unfortunately she wasn't up for the drive from Connecticut, we are looking forward to seeing them in the near future. Here's some pictures from our trip this weekend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!

Boy was I surprised this past Friday evening when Elizabeth showed up at my door step with Sophia in her arms. Had no idea she was planning to come to see me for my birthday! I love that girl!!!! I remember 4 years years ago when she came all the way from Germany on a cargo plane to surprise me for my birthday then. We had a great weekend together! Sara was home from College also, a very good friend of hers was killed in Boston while attending college and she was here for the funeral. I am glad we could all be with her during this very difficult time. Sara's birthday will be celebrated at West Virginia U. she has several parties planned. Party, party!!! My baby will be 20!

I have been very very busy lately, new job with State Farm Dave Dixon's Agency in Indian Head. It's only been a couple of weeks but I have learned so much. First I had to get through all the training with State Farm, all done on line and some at the main office (AFO) in White Plains. It's all new, insurance is somewhat like real estate, lots of customer service, the only difference is the fact everyone needs insurance but buying real estate unless a necessary no one is buying right now. My dear Curt is feeling better, his knee had been bothering him, it's never been the same since he injured it early this year. (this was before we met) Now he has been to the doctor and got his shot. Since the last time I wrote in the blog about the renovation Curt has installed the beautiful ceramic tile in the kitchen back splash, he has cut the panels and the trim to finish the walls and the cabinet trim. I am patiently waiting for the island. I think this Saturday Curt will work on it. There's soooo many other things in this old house that need attention, there's never a dull moment. The back door which had blown in the wind, my sweet Curt installed a new one when we got back from vacation. It looks beautiful!!! Also, just 2 days ago, Curt took down a broken window down and took it to the repair shop to have the glass replaced. Like I said, there's always something! We are looking forward to going to New York this coming weekend.... Curt's cousin's son is getting married. It will be great since I will get to meet so many family members at one time. Weddings can be so much fun. Upstate New York will be so beautiful this time of year too! Look for some pictures next week! HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Vacation in the Outer Banks, NC

What a wonderful 4 days in the Outer Banks, NC with my little Sophia, Elizabeth, Michael and Curt. We only had one day of rain, this allowed us to spend even more quality time. Sophia is a bundle of joy, being a toddler there's never a dull moment. Loves to watch her DVD and putting together the puzzles I brought her with Curt as you can see in the previous post. What a sweetie!
