Meeting my new grandson Chase

I finally got to come down to meet Chase, he is beautiful!!! So perfect in every way! I love babies and it was killing me that I hadn't been here yet. He's 2 1/2 weeks old now. I came down on Saturday and I am heading back home tomorrow, and yes, I am already planning my next trip down. It's the most difficult thing for me being so far away. Michael had to leave Saturday morning, the poor guy has been stuck in Germany, finally today he was able to get on a plane. Anything that could happen wrong happened. Sophia misses her Daddy, she left for school this morning telling her Mommy that Daddy would pick her up. She has been so great, Chase doesn't seem to phase her too much. It's almost like he has always been here. Sophia is a typical 3 year old. Busy, busy girl! Here's some pictures of Chase, Sophia, Elizabeth and Michael. Some of these pictures are proofs from the newborn shots of Chase and the rest of the family.... What a precious gift from God!

Spring is finally here!

It's been a long Winter and Spring has finally sprung! It's really too bad with Spring comes my allergies. I have had them beaten for the last 12 years but they are back... Dr. Garro took good care of me back then. No more sinus infections once I took 2 1/2 yrs of allergy shots. But now I know it does wear out after so many years and the proof is in the pudding. I am sick as a dog right now! I may just have to go back and see Dr. Garro again. At least now they won't have to stick me 50 times to test me, I hear technology has helped in this department. Well, enough about me! I still haven't been able to see my darlings... you would think I live in Portugal or something. It's almost as long by car to get to Pinehurst driving as it is flying across the Atlantic ocean but it's like I can do it anytime I want. And trust me there's been many of times I could do just that, get in the car and go. All in due time! Here's some pics, finally one of Sophia holding Chase. I miss her so much, I got to speak with her on the phone the other day, I just melt when she says --- I miss you grandma!

Rainy Days

It's been raining now for days! It's a great time to do nothing but sit by the fire and watch movies. I can't stop looking at pictures of Chase Michael and wondering what he's doing right now. I know Elizabeth, Michael and Sophia are enjoying their little bundle. He's so adorable.... Here's some pictures I pulled up from Sophia (I know I can't help it) and Bradley Bear, Bradley was born just a week before Sophia!!! Don't you just love it, they already had a personality then a couple of weeks old... it's amazing to watch them! Mommy with daughter, so sweet!

Major Life Event - I'm a grandma again!

The last couple of days have been very exciting for me and the rest of the family. My grandson was born on March 12 just 10 minutes after midnight. Elizabeth and Mike were at the hospital for a scheduled delivery early in the morning March 11. Elizabeth didn't have the easiest labor but remembering Sophia's labor it was probably better in some ways. I know from my own experience that no matter how much pain a mother is and no matter how many hours the pain continues, the end result is all worth it. Just look at the beautiful boy... Chase Michael Salvog - 6 lbs 12 oz Mommy and baby Chase looks just like his sister when she was a day old Sophia Alice with Daddy on February 27, 2007 I miss my Sophia right now, I wish I could see Baby Chase with her. So many memories of when we brought Elizabeth home from the hospital 26 yrs ago, remembering Phillip being so in love with his Bettie, that's what he called her and to this day it's still her family nickname. He was only 2 yrs and 3 mon old, like Sophia that just turned 3. Well, the last couple of days have been very emotional, not in a bad way but in a joyous way. When I am happy I tend to cry sometimes easier than when I am sad. It's the portuguese in me, my parents have always been that way too! And I remember my maternal grandmother being that way too. For anyone that is a grandparent you know the the joy and excitement a grandparent feels at times like this. Soon (2 weeks or so) I will be going to Pinehurst to meet my grandson. Mike and Elizabeth have the perfect size family of 4 now! Since I am so far away right now I can't wait to see new pictures of Sophia and Chase together... Elizabeth will tomorrow post some more on her blog. http://salvogfamily.blogspot.com/

Sophia's Birthday

Sophia's birthday was wonderful! She was so happy with her princess cake and the princess shoes she got from mommy and daddy and opened while daddy was on to watch on the webcam. They are such a close family even when they are far away from each other. I can't believe 3 years have gone by already...These pictures tell the story! /> a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgCnsmavJS1sx9XBu20wdl3QMJT9YyxD8Twt8q5IFoQCdG17ffGx4ZXNIHotPfdPY22uZ_asHkBFsr8QNCfHmyI_CHqCphvfncxt-NfkNyl061F9ni5eQ-q6FDZp1yyO5z8TspXgV9RKU/s1600-h/nc+sophia+3rd+bday.jpg">
