Nelida & Tomas Reis
April 10, 2010
Time flies! It's been crazy figuring out my life lately! Too many balls in the air it appears. My health has been awful too, it never helps when your body breaks down. I put it off for too long so, of course I finally went to the hospital to find out I not only had a sinus infection but an ear infection and acute bronchitis. I feel like coughing up a lung most days but I'm told that's good, I have to cough in order to get rid of the infection. My chest and abs hurt from the constant cough. Anyway, I did even sick go to my cousin's wedding in Long Island. Nelida and Tomas were married April 10 in Farmingville. I flew up to Providence, Phillip and I drove to the wedding the following day, stayed over night and drove back to Newport on Sunday. The wedding was a lot of fun! Nelida was a beautiful bride! I didn't get to see as many of my cousins as I would have liked to, everyone seems so spread out these days but it felt good to be there to represent my family. Elizabeth and Sara would have loved to be there as well but it would have been too difficult with Chase born less than a month and of course Sara in school too far away. We had thought about it how we could do it but it just wouldn't have worked. So Phillip and I were the only ones. It was great spending time with my son for a couple of days. I don't seem to be able to do that anymore. Courtney had a hockey tourment out of town that weekend but she was back Sunday shortly after we got back to Newport. We went out to dinner to a wonderful restaurant on the waterfront. I love to read the menus at the New England restaurants, they all have Portuguese dishes, it just goes to show the influence the Portuguese have in this area. On Monday David picked me up and we had just enough time to get some lunch and he dropped me off at the airport for my 45 minute flight back to Baltimore. We had a lovely lunch in East Greenwich, small town on the water. Had never been there before, David loves to show me places with history because he knows I love it. That's one of the reasons I love Rhode Island so much, the history and of course all the shoreline. It's absolutely beautiful!!! We have a lot of water in Southern Maryland but it's not as accessible as in Rhode Island. As matter of fact, after David picked me up he drove to Jamestown to the lighthouse, talk about history! He knows how much I love that spot, the most tranquil place in the world, the views are fantastic, it's one of his favorite spots too, it's the perfect place to just sit and read a book which he does often. Well, that's about it for now, I am posting some pics from the wedding. I have them all posted on facebook which the wedding party loved, I didn't take very many, not like I usually do. I am so much looking forward to seeing my grand babies again next month for Mother's Day!!!! I will be posting again then. Love you all!My handsome son...
