I was fortunate to spend 4th of July weekend with my children, well, Sara and Phillip there is. Sara had the brilliant idea to drive down from Morgantown, WV and pick me up for a road trip to Newport, RI. We had the best time, Rhode Island is so wonderful in the summer! The temperature is so much more moderate than Maryland, it reminds me of Portugal so much, maybe because of being on the ocean. Phillip had planned on taking me to Block Island on Saturday but couldn't get ferry tickets on account it was such a busy weekend but it was just fine, I can go there next time. We went on an hour narrated tour on the Rumrunner II, and it was awesome! Everybody was on the boats, everyone was hanging out on their mansions, like I said Newport is a wonderful place in the Summer. On the 4th, we went to the Hyatt on Goat Island, sat at the Pineapples by the poolside. There had live music which was real cool! Had some drinks and toasted to the sunset with champagne. It was the best 4th I can remember.
